Woodturning for Beginners – one day group class – LEVEL 2

For people who have completed a level 1 class with Glenn.

Format of a one-day group class is as follows:
Schedule – 10am-4pm

Workshop doors open at 9.45am – our Eircode is R21PC79

10 – 11.15      welcome and short introductions, workshop
11.15         short break
1– 2                lunch break (home-cooked lunch)
2–4pm           workshop

Practical details: Each turner has a top of the range lathe and tool panel with all necessary tools and chucks. All wood is supplied. Please wear shoes with grip – walking shoes or runners – not sandals.

What you will learn: You will go home with your own handturned piece

Basic skills are given attention in the structure of each course.

• tool selection and sharpening
• use of basic woodturning tools
• turn a project during the class – such as tea-light holders
• getting the best finish on your work
• getting the most out of your material, advice on drying and wood selection

This booking cannot be transferred to another day unless Glenn Lucas can replace your booking – at least one week is needed to fill this position.

Class size is small and last minute cancellations will mean that your booking is void and non-transferrable to another day.
